Zusammenfassung:Aromatic group containing organochlorosilanes are prepared by mixing chlorine, in the absence of irradiation, with a mixture of trichlorosilanes or methyldichlorosilanes and aromatic compounds, the then introducing the resulting mixture within an extremely short period of time into a zone irradiation with light, at least 30 percent of whose rays have wave lengths not exceeding 3,800 Angstrom. A wide variety of aromatic group containing organochlorosilanes are selectively obtained by the inventive process with high yields. Further, the formation of byproducts, which are difficult to separate and/or which have not utility, is effectively prevented.
