The trim strip has a maximum transverse cross-sectional thickness through its midportion and reduced thickness at its side edges. The trim strip comprises a thin bright metal facing bonded to a flexible backing of polymeric material or the like. The metal facing is flat or plain when uninstalled or in the free state, but becomes convex about its longitudinal axis when installed in a track in the bumper member to provide an attractice highlight to the bumper asssembly.
