Zusammenfassung:	This invention discloses a method and device of automatic measurement for use with a numerically-controlled lathe, wherein a detector head is made to travel so that the probes of the detector head are alternately brought into contact with an object to be measured at the diametrically spaced two positions thereof for detecting the deviations of the actual dimension from the programmed dimension by the deflection of the probes, the sum or the average value of the deviations being a correcting quantity for the tool position.
