METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-ARGININE BY FERMENTATION
Extracellular L-arginine is produced in commercially useful amounts by cultures of Microbacterium ammoniaphilum FERM-P 976, a mutant capable of growth on a culture medium containing more than 1,000 mu g/ml 2-thiazolealanine, a growth inhibitor for the parent strain which does not produce L-arginine.
