Zusammenfassung:A wire electrode of an electro-erosive cutting machine is guided along a cutting path in a feed motion. In order to remove material from the work piece, for example to make a V-shaped notch for later welding, the electrode has a cyclical motion, for example circular or elliptical, imparted thereto superimposed upon the feed motion over the cutting path, the cyclical motion being obtained for example by a mechanical linkage drive, by electrical signal-motion transducers and the like, preferably at a rate which is high with respect to the feed motion.
