Zusammenfassung:	1318327 Cathodic protection NIPPON YAKIN KOGYO K K 28 May 1971 [30 May 1970] 18067/71 Heading C7E [Also in Division B3] An anode for cathodic protection of stainless steel is prepared by casting molten Al or Albased alloy around a stainless steel core wire and drawing the resulting cast. The thickness ratio coating : core may be 0À5 to 10:1 and an alternative method of making the anode is to press the coating around the core. The anode is used to protect a body of the same material as the anode core, e.g. a boiler of 18-8 stainless steel may have attached thereto by spot welding a core wire of 18-8 stainless steel coated with Al or an alloy containing 5À2% Mg, 0À1% Mn, 0À1% Cr, balance Al, to protect the boiler against corrosion, particularly in solutions containing Cl.
