1424647 Recording apparatus SANGAMO ELECTRIC CO 4 Feb 1974 [19 April 1973] 22788/75 Divided out of 1424646 Heading G I J The recorder disclosed is identical to that of the main patent, but the claims are for a recorder including a meter, e.g. a watt-hour meter, having a rotating disc 10 provided with a reflective surface with a non-reflective section on it, a light beam (from a light emitting diode 40) shining on the disc 10 and being reflected to a detector 41 which provides a first output signal when receiving light from the reflective surface and a second output signal when the light is interrupted by the non- reflective sections, a trigger circuit 64 having two states dependent on which of said output signals it receives from the detector 41, a divider circuit 84 counting each change of the trigger circuit 64 from one of said two states to the other, selectable output circuits C1-4 on the divider 84, each capable of providing a pulse output after a different number of changes of state of the trigger circuit have been counted, and a recording circuit Fig. 2, (not shown) which records these pulses on a magnetic tape.
