Zusammenfassung:An apparatus is disclosed for processing vector data streams in such a way that, in a first mode, the data elements of a first vector stream are selected according to indices of those elements specified by a second vector stream. The selected elements are output in a single output vector stream. In a second mode the apparatus replaces elements in a third vector stream by elements in a first vector stream as specified by the indices in a second vector stream.
