Zusammenfassung:	Secured in the semi-trailer floor is a socket member having an internal conical surface forming an inverted cup with a centrally threaded opening in the upper or closed end of the socket. An external frusto-conical surface on a king pin carries a threaded stud at its upper end, engageable with the threaded opening to bring the two conical surfaces into tight, solid engagement. The king pin is held in place by a snap ring lying in a groove in the socket member and engaging the lower shoulder on the frusto-cone of the king pin.
