[Also in Division A5] The invention relates to N-aryl ureas of a general formula in which R 1 is hydrogen, an alkyl radical with 1-4 carbon atoms or an alkenyl radical with 2-4 carbon atoms, and R 2 is an alkyl radical with 1-4 carbon atoms or an alkenyl radical with 2-4 carbon atoms. Compounds claimed per se are those in which R 1 and R 2 are both methyl and ethyl and in which R 1 is hydrogen and R 2 methyl. The compounds may be prepared by reacting 3-chloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl isocyanate in the presence of a solvent with an amine of the formula HNR 1 R 2 . In an example 3-chloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl isocyanate dissolved in chlorobenzine is reacted with dimethyl aniline to produce 3-chloro-4- trifluoromethylphenyl dimethyl urea.
