Zusammenfassung:	1425792 Hydrolysis of aromatic dinitriles SUN VENTURES Inc 8 April 1974 [12 April 1973] 15489/74 Heading C2C A process for the preparation of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid comprises subjecting an aromatic dinitrile to an aqueous hydrolysis in a closed reactor at 200 to 300 C. until a hydrolysis equilibrium is obtained, venting the closed system to remove more than 50% of available ammonia, adjusting the vented system to a molality of the aromatic acid product from 1À5 to 2À5, saturating the system with carbon dioxide and isolating the precipitated aromatic dicarboxylic acid by separation under CO 2 pressure of 50 to 900 p.s.i.g.
