1371562 Pressure sensitive adhesive tapes BAYER AG 14 April 1972 [14 April 1971] 17229/72 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Pressure sensitive adhesive materials comprise a substrate, e.g. in the form of a tape or label of paper, synthetic resin, regenerated cellulose, textile fabrics or fleece, coated with adhesive compositions comprising a polyalkenamer obtained by ring opening polymerisation of a cycloalkene having 5 or 7 to 12 ring carbon atoms, dissolved in an inert solvent, and 10 to 250 per cent by weight of the polyalkenamer of a colophony, polyterpene, terpene-phenol, coumarone or phenyl-formaldehyde resin. The solvent may be a hydrocarbon or chlorinated hydrocarbon; and the compositions may also contain fillers, e.g. zinc, titanium and aluminium oxides, lithopone, chalk, heavy spar, silica and carbon; and age resisters, e.g. amines and phenols. In examples polyethylene glycol terephthalate foils are knife coated with adhesive compositions comprising trans-polypentanamer, 2,6-di-t-butyl-p-cresol, benzene and petroleum hydrocarbons together with (A to D) terpene/phenol resin, (E and F) terpene/ phenol resin and zinc oxide, and (G) polyterpene resin.
