Zusammenfassung:	A focusing apparatus for a photographic camera, projector and the like has a plurality of photoelectric elements, each of which has a substantially constant current characteristic, with respect to the impedance of its load, connected in series. A plurality of these elements are arranged in the image plane of an objective lens and connected across the series outputs thereof is a detector and electroservomechanism operatively linked to the optical system, for adjusting the focusing of the optical system so that the potential difference between each end of the photoelectric elements will be maintained at a minimum value.
