Zusammenfassung:	A screw extruder for the continuous processing of a synthetic thermoplastic material in which one section of the rotatable screw in the metering or discharge zone of a barrel extruder carries a plurality of radially projecting pins of different specific heights in place of the thread flight, this section extending along an axial length of at least two screw diameters. This combination of apparatus is particularly useful in evening or equalizing the temperature of the processed thermoplastic material.
