Hollow articles having bi-axial orientation may be produced from stabilized vinyl chloride polymerides of K-values 50-80, by making a preform e.g. by casting or injection moulding, in the thermoplastic temperature range, cooling the preform to the thermoelastic temperature range i.e. 90-140 C., and deforming it by biaxial stretching at this temperature, preferably at a temperature at which the material has a stretching capacity of at least 225% or a maximum tensile strength of 200 kp/cm2. Bi-axial stretching may be the inflation of an extruded tube to form a bottle. |
