Zusammenfassung:1326111 Coating motor vehicle with preformed sheets TORAY INDUSTRIES Inc HONDA MOTOR CO Ltd and FUJIKURA KASEI CO Ltd 19 June 1970 [19 June 1969 (2)] 29959/70 Heading B6G [Also in Divisions B2 C3 and C4] A temporary protection is formed on the surface of a motor vehicle by (i) applying to the surface a composition comprising (a) more than 80% and up to 99À3% of a particulate compound, organic or inorganic, unreactive with water and not soluble in water beyond 1%, and (b) 0À1% to 20% of a wax or aqueous emulsion of a synthetic resin, and (ii) subsequently applying to the coated surface a water-insoluble plastics coating. The particulate compound (a) may be barium sulphate, calcium carbonate, barium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, calcium sulphate, titanium oxide, iron oxide, cuprous oxide, zinc oxide, clay, red lead, white lead, lithopone, ultramarine, talc, chromium oxide, red iron oxide, loess, silica gel, silicic anhydride, polishing powder, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polyamide, polyester, acrylic, phenolic, urea or melamine resin or synthetic rubber. The binder (b) may be carnauba wax, cotton wax, paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax, petrolatum, a mixture of polyethylene with a wax, and may be dispersed or dissolved in water or aliphatic hydrocarbon, to which an aromatic hydrocarbon or an alcohol may be added. Alternatively the binder (b) may be an emulsion of polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinyl acetate, a polyacrylate or acrylate copolymer, an acrylonitrile-acrylate copolymer, a vinylidene chloride-vinyl chloride copolymer, polystyrene, a styrene-butadiene copolymer or a methyl acrylate-butadiene copolymer. The composition may also contain other components to colour it or to improve flowability, smoothness and stability; examples are monooctyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate and silicone. The second coating (ii) may be of regenerated cellulose polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polypropylene, polyester, polycarbonate, nylon, polystyrene, styrenebutadiene copolymer, "Vinylon" (Registered Trade Mark), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyacrylate, vinyl chloride-acrylate copolymer, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinvl butyral, acrylonitrile-acrylate copolymer, rubber hydro-chloride, synthetic rubber or a fluorine-containing polymer. It may also contain a plasticizer, a lubricant, e.g. a silicone, an ultraviolet-absorbing agent and an antioxidant. The se
