Zusammenfassung:	Apparatus for drying particulate solid materials employing a fluidized bed of the material to accomplish drying. Drying is carried out in a chamber having walls defining a confined mass of the particles which is of slab-like configuration to preclude channeling of the fluidizing gas and consequent poor efficiency. Heated agitator means are provided to assist in maintaining the fluidity of the bed notwithstanding the tendency thereof to pack in the presence of moisture.
