Zusammenfassung:	A wheel having permanent magnets therein is keyed to a rotatable shaft. A second wheel is positioned adjacent the first wheel and also includes a number of permanent magnets therein. The second mentioned wheel is driven by magnetic coupling when the shaft and the first mentioned wheel turns. Means are provided for sensing the rotation of the second or driven wheel which indicates direction of rotation for the shaft.
