Zusammenfassung:	The external surfaces of crystalline aluminosilicates are treated with hydrocarbyl halosilanes or their condensation products with ammonia, primary amines, secondary amines or alcohols to modify the surface adsorptive properties of the aluminosilicates. In separation processes employing crystalline aluminosilicates wherein the surface adsorbed materials must be removed in a purging operation before the initially adsorbed materials are recovered, silanizing the external surface of the aluminosilicates greatly reduces the time or severity of the purging operation.
