BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM GmbH 9 June 1970 [16 June 1969 5 Dec 1969] 27856/70 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein R is a straight or branched chain alkyl group with 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R1 is a straight or branched chain alkyl group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms or a cyclohexyl group and n is 0 or 1. These compounds may be prepared by treating a 4,6-dinitrophenol or phenolate of formula wherein A is a hydrogen or an alkali metal atom and R1 is as defined above; or a hydroxy ester of formula wherein n and R have the above meaning, with phosgene, and reacting the resulting chlorocarbonate with the appropriate hydroxy compound of Formula II or III, optionally in the form of an alcoholate or phenolate. Many compounds are specified in the examples. The invention also comprises an acaricidal agent which contains as active ingredient a compound of Formula I together with a solid or liquid carrier.
