| Zusammenfassung: | A method of improving the quality of images formed by illuminating nondiffuse transparent objects with coherent light, such as in microholography, wherein undesirable noise and grain is appreciably reduced by illuminating the object with coherent light that is characterized in having constant amplitude and random phase. This type of coherent light may be obtained by inserting a phase modulator in the path of the illuminating light in close proximity to the object, the phase modulator acting to scatter the light at very small angles. |
