Zusammenfassung:1322801 Gas turbine blades GENERAL ELECRIC CO 28 Aug 1970 [1 Dec 1969] 41563/70 Heading FIT A hollow air cooled gas turbine stator blade has a partition 25 extending between the sidewalls to strengthen the blade and divide it into leading and trailing edge chambers 26, 28 containing respectively hollow inserts 30, 32. Chamber 28 also contains spaced chordwise extending strengthening ribs 58 projecting from the blade sidewalls to the insert 32 and being inter-connected downstream of the latter at 60. Pin-like ribs 62 are also provided. Compressed cooling air is delivered to chambers 77, 79 adjacent the inner and outer blade platforms 12, 14 respectively. Air from chamber 77 flows through holes 80 in a baffle 40, some entering insert 30 and the remainder flowing through passages 54 in platform 12 to cool the platforms 78 of rotor blades 66. Air from chamber 79 also flows through a baffle 42, some entering inserts 30, 32 and the remainder flowing through passages 52 to cool the fixed shroud member 70 surrounding rotor blades 66. The passages 52, 54 are inclined at substantially the same angle to the axial direction 57 as the working gas leaving the blade so that cooling air leaving the passages causes minimum disturbance of the main flow. Air leaves inserts 30, 32 through holes 36 in the walls thereof and impinges upon the blade walls before exhausting through holes 18, 64, 66 in the latter into the working gas stream. In a modification Fig. 4 (not shown), a filter (90) is mounted outwardly of baffle 42 to trap particles in the cooling air which might clog the cooling holes.
