Zusammenfassung:1,226,934. Filter press. K. I. KURITA. 20 Jan., 1969 [5 NOV., 1968], No. 3115/69. Heading BID. As successive plates of a filter press 1 are moved to the right (in Fig. 1) after pressing, their cloths 10, which are each secured to the bottoms of two adjacent plates and looped over a rod 9, suspended by springs 8 from pivot joints (7) between arms 5, 6, are opened out as shown and simultaneously vibrated by means 17, which is progressively moved to the left by screw 15, geared to the platespreading mechanism, to vibrate each cloth in turn. In Fig. 1 the vibrating means comprises a pair of rotary shafts 16 carrying cams 17, which slide along the shafts between collars 21 and are keyed to turn with the shafts, cams 17 engaging and depressing rods 9 against the restoring force of springs 8 (Fig. 4, not shown). In Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) a single rotary shaft (33) carries a cam (40) which causes a vertical rod (35) to oscillate vertically, and the rod carries a member (34) which repeatedly strikes the rods 9. In Fig. 7, screw 45 moves a plate 50 along the press, which plate carries a cross-plate 55, mounted on springs 59 and vibrated by an eccentric weight 58 rotated on bearings 56, mounted on cross-plate 55, by a belt drive from motor 51 on plate 50. Extensions 62 - 66 from the ends of the cross-plate transmit the vibrations to rods 9. In Figs. 10 - 13 (not shown), the cloths are vibrated by a vertically oscillating striker (105) driven by a pneumatic ram (90), which is mounted on rollers and pulled along the press by a chain drive. The ram is supplied with compressed air through a flex-, ible pipe, and an electromagnetic valve, geared to the chain drive, switches air to each end. of the ram alternately.
