[Also in Divisions C2 and G2] A novel colour coupler α-[5-methyl-6-(2- amino - 4 - pentadecylphenylazo) - 2 - benzotriazolyl] - α - [3,5 - disulphobenzoyl) - 4 - methoxycarbonylacetanilide (coupler 10) is made by reductive cyclization of the appropriate o-nitroazo compound to form the benzotriazolyl moiety followed by coupling of the diazonium derivative to form the azo group.
