Zusammenfassung: | 1,211,505. Making helically seamed tubing. E. K. MALKKI, and V. SILDE. 26 March, 1969 [7 June, 1968], No. 15820/69. Headings B3A and B3E. In a machine for making helically seamed tubing from a profiled strip 18a, in which the strip is positively guided through a distance corresponding to one turn of the seam and the seaming is performed by rolls 15, 16 located internally and externally of the tube, there is provided a loop comprising a flexible guiding element 10 into which the strip is fed to form it to a tubular shape and a support member 4 arranged to support the tube as it is being formed. The flat strip is passed through profiling rolls 2 and between guide blocks 13 to the guiding element 10. The latter, which may comprise a steel or plastics strip, a steel wire or a roller chain, is adjusted to the required tube diameter by rotation of a worm drive 6, which simultaneously adjusts the position of the support member 4. The seaming roll 16 is mounted in a slide (22), which is adjustable in two mutually perpendicular directions, Fig. 4 (not shown). |
