As shown, developer is supplied to the front part 36 by a pump 37, the web is prewet with liquid sprayed through a pipe 24 from a tray 14 using metering and drive rollers 18, 20 and excess developer liquid is removed from the web by squeegees 22, 25 above a tray 16 into which excess liquid developer from slots 28 runs.
