1292482 Denture soak tablets COLGATEPALMOLIVE CO 14 April 1970 [17 April 1969] 17738/70 Heading C5D Manufacture of water-soluble, neutral pH, effervescent denture soak tablets comprising (a) 5-75% of water-soluble carbonate or bicarbonate, (b) 5-75% of an organic acid with or without an organic or inorganic acid anhydride and (c) 5-50% of an oxidizing agent is characterized in that 0À1-5% of a water soluble detergent is admixed with the composition immediately before moulding of the tablets. The composition may also include flavour oils, a water-soluble dye oxidized in tablets. The composition may also include 10-30 minutes to a colourless state, and polyvinylpyrrolidone as binding agent. Ingredients specified include:-carbonates and bicarbonates: sodium bicarbonate, magnesium carbonate; organic acids and anhydrides: citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, succinic acid and anhydride; inorganic acid anhydrides: boric anhydride; oxidizing agents: potassium persulphate, sodium perborate; detergents: sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate, methyl naphthalene sodium sulphonate, alkylphenoxypoly(ethyleneoxy)ethanol, soap. Sodium benzoate is also present in an example.
