[Also in Divisions A4, A5, B1, B5 and C3] Cigarette filters are produced from a cellular material comprising a polymer of thermoplastics material (see Division C3). The cellular materials may be prepared with sorbing agents or chelating agents dispersed therein, coating the interior surfaces of the cells. Thus activated charcoal, sodium hexametaphosphate or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid may be incorporated to remove radioactive elements and noxious gases from tobacco smoke.
