1294535 Scouring pads COLGATEPALMOLIVE CO 14 April 1970 [21 April 1969] 17739/70 Heading A4F A scouring pad comprises superposed layers 12, 14 of material, each having a rough abrasive surface and a mild abrasive surface, the layers being so joined together along at least two edges that the pad may be turned inside out. The layers 12, 14 have surface coatings 32, 34 of hard abrasive material such as carborundum, boron nitride, silex, or nutshells, and surface coatings 36, 38 of mildly abrasive material such as melamine resin, nylon, polypropylene or jeweller's rouge. The materials of the layers 12, 14 may be the same or different and may comprise substrates of synthetic plastics such as woven nylon or polyester, cellulosic materials such as paper, cotton, or wool, or metal such as metal wool or foil. The pad may be worn as a mitten or contain soap or detergent, dish cloths or sponges.
