The ring 34 is mounted in a bearing 35. The plate and spindle are rotated about the spindle axis by a motor via belt and pulley arrangements. The support member 24 is accurately positioned by a stop member 31 contacting a stop surface 32. A gauge 21 includes two resiliently mounted arms 52, 53 and constantly measures the diameter of the internal surface 14 and causes automatic control of grinding-wheel 16. A dressing apparatus 37a is provided. The shoot is mounted in a housing 11 or locating blocks 39, 41 and 42 and can be replaced by another shoot for different size workpieces. The support members 24, 26, the nose 48, and the clamping plate 33 will then also be changed. |
