Zusammenfassung: | 1278356 Grinding HEALD MACHINE CO 24 Sept 1969 [27 Sept 1968] 46973/69 Heading B3D In a machine for grinding an internal surface of revolution on a workpiece, e.g. the inner race of a ball-bearing, workpieces in a shoot 22 are individually fed to a grinding station by a first support member 24 and an escapement device 37, the member and device being rotatable about axis A when an air cylinder 38 is actuated. A workpiece fed to the grinding station ejects a finished workpiece. At the grinding station, the workpiece is located by the member 24, a further support member 26 and a resilient member 28, and is clamped between the nose 48 of a spindle 12 and a plate 33 by means of the plate being moved by air pressure relative to a ring 34 towards the spindle. The ring 34 is mounted in a bearing 35. The plate and spindle are rotated about the spindle axis by a motor via belt and pulley arrangements. The support member 24 is accurately positioned by a stop member 31 contacting a stop surface 32. A gauge 21 includes two resiliently mounted arms 52, 53 and constantly measures the diameter of the internal surface 14 and causes automatic control of grinding-wheel 16. A dressing apparatus 37a is provided. The shoot is mounted in a housing 11 or locating blocks 39, 41 and 42 and can be replaced by another shoot for different size workpieces. The support members 24, 26, the nose 48, and the clamping plate 33 will then also be changed. |
