Zusammenfassung: | 1,166,053. Electron beam irradiation apparatus. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. 4 Aug., 1967 [8 Aug., 1966], No. 35466/66. Heading H1D. The window of an electron irradiating apparatus is cooled by directing a laminar flow of gas across its external surface. The window may be provided with inlet and exhaust channels on opposite sides, the inlet channel including a pump and the outlet channel including a second pump (Fig. 1, not shown) or an expansion chamber (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown). The inlet channel may be provided with an auxiliary channel to direct a laminar flow of air over the material being treated (Fig. 3, not shown) to remove ozone and volatiles arizing from irradiation without disturbing the surface, for example a painted surface when the apparatus is used for electron curing. |
