Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,072,667. Electrophysical measurement. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. May 2, 1966 [May 7, 1965], No.19142/66. Addition to 1, 058, 562. Heading G1N. In a gyromagnetic spectrometer for analysis of samples subject to gamma radiation the samples are held in a pole like probe in a nuclear reactor "swimming pool" and surrounded by uranium rods used in the reactor as a gamma ray source. The pole comprises a fixed outer tube housing the magnetic-field-generating-solenoid (34), a calorimeter (38) for measuring the gamma radiation, and the coolant supply piping (44). The resonant cavity holding the sample is lowered into this fixed outer tube, and suspended from the bottom of a rectangular sleeve (56) housing the coupling waveguide. The waveguide is offset at the bottom and surrounded by lead shot to provide a radiation shield.
