The open end of a housing 12 is closed by a supporting member 19 carrying a resistance track 24 connected to terminal pins 22 anchored in non-circular cross-section passages in the supporting member, while the opposite end provides a bearing for a driver 16 coupled to a contactor 18, a resilient ring 14 between housing and driver pressing the centre of the contactor into engagement with the central contact integral with a terminal pin 17b while a resilient arm 18a presses the wiper 18d on to the resistance element. A boss 16f on the driver and a stop 12a in the housing may be provided to limit rotation of the driver. The pins 22 may be driven into square tapered holes in the supporting member and secured by solder or conductive resin connecting them to the ends of the resistance track.
