A bucket loader, having a bucket 11 pivotally mounted on one or more lift arms 12 and a motor 14 to pivot the bucket through linkage 16, is provided with means 28 which on the bucket reaching a predetermined dumping position relative to the lift arm or arms can actuate motor 14 to terminate forward tilting of the bucket. Motor 14 comprises a hydraulic cylinder and piston controlled by means of a handle which is held in a dumping position by detent means which are released by lever 17 actuating the means 28. By manually holding the handle in the dumping position the bucket can be pivoted until lever 17 engages stop 26 to jam the bucket.
