Zusammenfassung: | 1,260,413. Hermetic cell for electric cells. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO. Inc. 27 March, 1969 [29 March, 1968], No. 16001/69. Heading H1B. A sealed cell, e.g. a nickel-cadmium cell, comprising a receptacle 10, e.g. a nickel-plated steel cylinder, containing positive 17 and negative 19 electrodes, has a metal tube 12, e.g. nickel, integral with and extending substantially to the bottom of the receptacle and a plastics sheath 13 inserted in tube 12, and a contact wire 14, e.g. nickel, fitted within sheath 13, which contacts positive electrode 17 through tab 18, the metal tube 12 being crimped at least at several positions along its length to effect a pressure seal between wire 14 and tube 12. As shown, the electrodes can be rolled about the metal tube which then serves as a mandrel. The plastics sheath may be of polychlorotrifluoroethylene polypropylene, nylon or polyethylene. |
