[Also in Division F2] An adjustable support for a roller, for example, the feed roller of a stuffer crimper, comprises a bracket 20 in which the roller 13 is journalled, the bracket being supported on a shaft 21 supported in a housing carrying a brush in which the shaft is journalled the 'brush having a cylindrical outer periphery mounted in the housing and an annular inner surface eccentric with respect to the outer surface, the shaft having an end portion which is eccentric relative to the axis of the remainder of the shaft, the eccentric portion being mounted in the bush, the bush and the shaft being independently adjustable angularly so as to vary the position of the shaft axis relative to the centre of the outer surface of the bush. The bush 27 is provided with a flange 46 which may be provided with graduations 40 and with slots 4 in which may be inserted an adjusting tool 41. The other end of .the shaft is supported in a cylindrical bore 22 of a housing 24 and is provided with a screw driver slot 42 for adjustment of the shaft. The axle 18 of the roller 13 is journalled in a bush 19 mounted in the bracket 20 which is supported by the shaft 21. In the stuffer crimper described the roller 13 is held against a roller 12 mounted in a fixed member 17 by means of cord 32 which is secured to the bracket 17 and then passes over rolls 33 and 34 and at its free end carries a weight (not shown). The rollers are geared together by gears 35 and 36 and driven by a suitable means. |
