[Also in Division C1] A method of forming an insulated shaping surface on a bending mould comprises affixing an insulating cover material 53, e.g. in the form of strips each comprising a mat of alumina or silica short fibres bonded by a colloidal silica, to a master form 51 having a surface 52 conforming in curvature to the desired curvature of the mould-shaping surface, applying a layer 55 of adhesive, e.g. a silicone elastomer optionally containing as thickener silica or milled fibre glass to the surface of the cover material, forcing the bending mould against the adhesive and curing the adhesive.
