Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,144,001. Bromo-cyano-acetic acid amides. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 3 Jan., 1966 [2 Jan., 1965], No. 74/66. Heading C2C. [Also in Divisions A5 and C5] Halocyano-acetic acid amides of the general formula wherein X 1 is a bromine atom, X 2 is a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom and R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or C 1 -C 8 alkyl radicals, or R 1 and R 2 may also form, together with the nitrogen atom, a heterocyclic ring, are employed as antimicrobial agents (see Division A5). Compounds of the above general formula wherein X 2 is bromine may be prepared by bromination of the corresponding cyano-acetic acid amide. Compounds of the above general formula wherein X 2 is hydrogen may be prepared by reaction between the corresponding dibromocyano-acetic acid amide and the corresponding cyano-acetic acid amide.
