Zusammenfassung: | The invention comprises water-insoluble azo dyestuffs of the formula wherein A is a benzene residue; Y is H, halogen, C1-C4 alkyl or C1-C4 alkoxy; Z is H, halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, CF3 or acylamino; n is an integer of from 2 to 10; X is H or acyl; B and V are alkylene radicals; and W is CN or one of the following which may be further substituted alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy, carboalkoxy or aryloxycarbonyl, or B-W is a group of the formula:-(V-O-)n-acyl; the dye-stuffs being free of SO3H and COOH groups. They may be obtained by coupling a diazotized primary amine of the benzene series with a coupling component of the formula (see Division C2 for preparation). One class of preferred dyes are those of the formula wherein W1 is CN, -O-aryl or carbo-C1-C4 alkoxy. A second preferred class of dyes are those of the formula wherein P is H, Cl, Br, CN, NO2, C1-C4 alkylsulphonyl, C1-C4 alkoxy or carbo-C1-C4 alkoxy, and Q is H, Cl or Br. A third preferred class of dyes are those of the formula wherein m represents an integer from 2 to 4. Examples are given for the production of the dyes. They may be used for colouring synthetic textile materials, for example cellulose acetate textiles, polyamide textiles and aromatic polyester textiles.ALSO:Dyestuff intermediates of the formula wherein Y is H, halogen, C1-C4 alkyl or C1-C4 alkoxy; Z is H, halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, CF3 or acylamino; n is an integer of from 2 to 10; X is H or acyl; B and V are alkylene radicals; and W is CN, alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy, carboalkoxy or aryloxy-carbonyl or B-W is a group of the formula (V-O-)n-acyl, and free of SO3H and COOH groups; are obtained (1) when X is H by reacting the corresponding secondary amine of the formula with the required molecular proportions of an alkylene oxide or with a chloro- or bromo-alkanol of the formula Cl-(V-O-)n-H or Br-(V-O)n-H or by hydrolysis of the corresponding compounds wherein X is acyl; (2) when X is acyl by acylating the corresponding compound in which X is H, or by treating the corresponding secondary amine of the above formula with an acylated chloro- or bromo-alkanol of the formula Cl-(V-O-)n-acyl or Br-(V-O)n-acyl. |
