Zusammenfassung: | The invention comprises dyes of the formula wherein the radical R is attached at the carbon atoms of a cyclic group present in R which represents a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring containing the said group, which ring may form part of a fused ring system and may be substituted by chlorine, bromine, methyl, methoxy and -COOY and the benzene ring A may be substituted by chlorine, bromine, nitro or -COOY where Y is hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl or hydroxyalkoxyalkyl, provided that the dyestuffs contain at least one -COOY group. The dyes are made by condensing R-CH3 with an anhydride of the formula the reactants being chosen so that the product contains a -COOY group or, when Y is other than hydrogen, by esterifying a dye containing a -COOH group. The dyes dye synthetic linear polyesters in yellow shades. |
