Amino-acetylamino-cholestanes

Novel 3 - (secondary aminoacetylamino) -cholestanes wherein the secondary amino group is of aliphatic character e.g. butylamino, cyclohexylamino, and the 3-side chain can have either alpha or beta configuration are prepared by reaction of a 3-amino-cholestane with a halogeno-acetyl halide and reaction of the product with the appropriate primary amine. The free bases and their acid-addition salts may be interconverted. The novel steroids are stated to have tumour-inhibiting properties, and they may be incorporated in pharmaceutical or veterinary compositions or added to animal feeds or feedstuff additives.
