Inverter circuits with capacitor bridge commutator circuits

The main controlled rectifiers S of an inverter in bridge connection are turned-off by pulses derived from capacitors C 1 , C 2 connected across bridges of controlled rectifiers S 1 to S 4 through additional controlled rectifiers Z 1 , Z 2 , Z 3 (Fig. 1). Alternatively, there may be a set of elements C 1 , S1, S 2 , S 3 , S 4 for each main controlled rectifier S in which case the additional controlled rectifiers (such as Z 1 ) are not required (Fig. 2, not shown). In a further embodiment (Fig. 3), each bridge of controlled rectifiers S 1 to S 4 functions as a main controlled rectifier. The invention may be used in pulse-controlled inverters. Each rectifier in the drawings may be a number of rectifiers in parallel.
