Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1,093,649. Recording and playback. MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO. Ltd. June 4, 1965 [June 6, 1964; Nov. 21, 1964; Dec. 4, 1964; Dec. 26, 1964 (2); Dec. 28, 1964], No. 24023/65. Heading G5R. A gramophone of the type described in Specification 1,093,648 is provided with means for pivoting the tone arm in a direction to lift the needle away from the record, and for inclining the roller relative to the rotating cylinder to effect automatic return of the tone arm to its rest position. Movement of the carriage 53, Fig. 6, along the cylinder 26 in a direction B causes a projection 174 to engage arm 105 and effect rotation of member 177 to lie in the path of striker plate 235 mounted on a gear-wheel 233 driven by the gramophone motor. Rapid motion of the tone arm at the lead-out groove rotates member sufficiently for striker plate 235 to hit it and rotate gear-wheel 240 until it meshes with gearwheel 238. Gear-wheel 340 then completes one revolution under the drive of gear 238 to raise the tone arm and rotate the roller under the action of parallel motion linkage 114. The tone arm is moved until it strikes a stop on the rest 186, Fig. 9, whereupon the pulley wheel is gradually rotated until its axis is again parallel with that of the cylinder. A microswitch 131 is also activated to switch off the mechanism. Manually actuated levers 203, 215, Fig. 9, are provided to co-operate with member 177 to reject a record during play, and to give non- automatic operation.
