[Also in Division B3] A key is attached to a tear strip in the metal end wall of a container by forming an upstanding annulus, displacing metal from the tear strip without penetrating entirely through the plate, then positioning a key on the annulus, and outwardly flanging an outer end portion of the annulus to fix the key to the tear strip (see Division B3). As shown, a pre-formed key 16 having a hole to fit over an upstanding annulus punched in the end wall 10 is held in position by flanging over the outer end 24 of the annulus. The annulus 24 &c. lies within a tear-strip 14 defined by a score line 12.
