Zusammenfassung: | 1,113,103. Concentrating solutions by freezing. STRUTHERS SCIENTIFIC & INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION. 10 May, 1965 [3 June, 1964 (2)], No. 53297/67. Divided out of 1,113,102. Heading F4H. A process for freeze concentrating solutions comprises passing the solution into a crystallizer tube, agitating the solution either by continuously rotating blades or by blades oscillating through an arc less than 360 degrees within the tube, the blades being spaced from the surface of the tube and moving at an average speed of at least 350 inches per minute, and maintaining a temperature differential across the tube surface of 15 F. or less. The process may be carried out in the apparatus described in Specification 1,113,102 or in apparatus in which the agitator blades within a plurality of crystallizer tubes are oscillated by rack and pinion means (Figs. 9 to 14, not shown). |
