Zusammenfassung: | 1,020,268. Spark erosion. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC AND ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 26, 1964 [March 29, 1963], No. 12845/64. Heading B3V. In the machining by spark erosion of thin metals 1 the polarity of the applied voltage is initially such as to erode preferentially the working surface 3, Fig. 1, of the electrode 2 to suit the contour of the adjacent workpiece surface, then the polarity is reversed, Fig. 2, and the workpiece is eroded at 4 to reduce its thickness. The workpiece 1 may be a window of beryllium used in an X-ray tube, counting tube or micro-radiography tube. The electrode 2 is preferably of copper. |
