Zusammenfassung: | 1,028,100. Valves. FRAM CORPORATION. March 26, 1965 [June 18, 1964], No. 13010/65. Heading F2V. [Also in Division B1] Water which accumulates in a sump 25 on the upstream side, and also on the inside, of an annular filter cartridge 40 is periodically drained off by partially unscrewing a plug 50. Plug 50 is made of nylon, and the threaded part 52 of plug 50 has flattened portions 53 which are exposed by partially unscrewing the plug, allowing water to pass (Figs. 3, 4, not shown). At the same time the end of pin 55, extending from plug 50, is withdrawn from a rubber grommet 44 to drain the inside, downstream side, of cartridge 40. Sump 25 or the whole of bowl 20 may be transparent nylon to permit inspection of water level. The device is used either upstream (Fig. 1, not shown) or downstream of a tap which draws liquid fuel from a storage tank. |
