Zusammenfassung: | 1,089,126. Web treating apparatus. TEEPAK Inc. Aug. 26, 1965 [Aug. 31, 1964], No. 36639/65. Heading D1L. [Also in Division F4] Apparatus for heat treating tubular web material C comprises a housing 20 to which air under pressure is supplied by a fan (not shown) into upper and lower manifolds 40, 41, and 42, 43 for passage through two series of annular, high velocity orifices 75 defined by a series of shaped blocks 70 and spaced along the path of travel of two tubular members C so as to project radially against the entire outer periphery of the material as it passes through the orifice. Each block has a generally planar body with a central opening 75 there through and an annular face 78 surrounding the opening and set back from one surface 76. A channel 80 in the block is also set back from the surface so that joining similar faces of two blocks defines the annular orifice. Each block also has on the opposite face 90 raised lugs 91, 92, 93 to engage corresponding lugs of another block to provide a space for exhaustion of air from about the material C to ducts leading from the upper and lower walls of the housing 20 under the influence of a further fan. The material runs through the orifices on rotatable balls 101 mounted on three triangularlymounted rods 100. |
