Zusammenfassung: | 1,054,830. Chlorine. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. June 19, 1964 [June 21, 1963], No. 25580/64. Heading C1A. Chlorine is produced from gaseous and/or aqueous HCl by oxidation with HNO 3 in an aqueous solution containing at least 35% by weight of a soluble chloride and/or nitrate of a metal from Groups I, II, III or VIII of the Mendeleeff Periodic Table. Reactor 1, filled with Raschig rings and containing, e.g. a 50% LiCl solution, is heated and charged with HCl and HNO 3 , brought via pipe 22 through condenser 2, and with gaseous HCl from pipe 16. The mixture of Cl 2 and NOCl leaving the reactor is freed from steam, HCl and HNO 3 in 2, dried in 3, and passed to column 6. Chlorine leaves said column via line 5. is freed from residual NOCl in scrubber 14 and removed through pipe 17. NOCl from column 6 passes via pipe 18 to tower 15, where it is treated with distillate from vessel 9 to form HNO 3 and HCl. O 2 or a free O 2 -containing gas is supplied to 15 from pipe 19. The salt solution from vessel 1 passes through secondary reactor and degasifier 8 to vessels 9 and 10, in which water is distilled off. The resulting solution is recycled to 1. Other salts specified are nitrates and chlorides of Ca, Na, Mg, K, Sr, Zn, Cd, Al, Ni, Co and Fe. |
